About The Tell

The Tell is a murder-mystery logic puzzle. Someone was killed, and the killer left bloody prints in the shared rooms. Every suspect says what they saw from where they stood. All of them tell the truth, except one answer: the lie gives the killer away.

Use the row and column counts, the knocked-over furniture and the witnesses' lines of sight to find every print, place every suspect and catch the liar. Every case has exactly one solution and can be solved by logic alone, with no guessing. Start with the tutorial, climb through the chapters from Beginner to Expert, and come back for a new daily case every day.

North is up the map. Each suspect says what they saw from where they stood.

Rules

Numbers count prints in each row and column. A knocked-over object has its own print beside it.
Each suspect stood beside their own furniture, saw no other suspect and couldn't see the body.
“Couldn't see”: a wall or furniture right there. “No one”: no print in that line. “Someone, heading north-east”: the nearest print in that line has another print further that way.
Each criminal told exactly one lie, never “couldn't see”; everyone else told the truth.
